About me
I work in the Zoology Department at the University of Oxford, where I research the ecology and evolution of social behaviour. If you want to know more, please check out my research and publications pages. Students can find teaching materials here.
I spend a lot of my free time reenacting Dark Age life and combat, which generally involves fighting and quaffing with the Vikings and the Wychwood Warriors, who have a Wiki here with oodles of photos and resources for Anglo-Saxon and Viking reenactment. I also shoot with the Cherwell Archers. When not playing with sharp pointy things, I do lots of other stuff, like learning Spanish, growing turnips and listening to comically teutonic industrial music. I particularly like cooking, and have unleashed some recipes on the internet.
I keep a tame software developer called Graham. Google with tell you that Graham Lee is a jockey, a balloon modeller or perhaps even that he owns two large carpet showrooms near Cheam. These are all the wrong Graham Lee. The correct one can be found here.
If you're wondering why my Wiki is called Sessrúmnir, it's because this was the name of the Norse goddess Freya's hall in Fólkvangr. After an argument over the Brisingamen, Odin made Freya agree to take half of the slain warriors whom the Valkyries brought to Valhalla to Sessrúmnir, where they presumably were entertained until Ragnarok.
p.s. If you're looking for Mr T, you won't find him here. Oh no.
